It’s a virtue, they say, to be modest and plain,
Like light-colored things with no contrasting stain
Except a thin band,
So you won’t look too bland.
Never stand out. Avoid being bold.
And listen intently when stories are told.
Life goes on nearby at its own rapid pace.
Now seek out your level and find your best place.
As years pass by
The thrill is nigh.
